Enter the world of a professional Studio and train in the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique. Study of the essentials of the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique gives young actors awareness, focus, concentration, and the tools of the actor’s creative process. These essential lessons support all their production experiences, providing a foundation while developing skill and confidence.
In the Five-Day Intensive each morning is devoted to in-depth training exercises and each afternoon we explore character development and created scenes. On the final day, we will prepare in the morning and have a showing in the Studio of scenes for invited audience.
Workshop Schedule
Morning sessions 10 -12:30 p.m.
Lunch together at one of the fast food/cafes nearby. (Students may bring bag lunch.)
Afternoon sessions 1:30- 4:00 p.m.
The Studio of The Moving Dock is located on the seventh floor of The Fine Arts Building, suite 720, 410 South Michigan Avenue, between Congress Parkway and Van Buren. Students coming on the Metra trains can take CTA buses from the train stations to Michigan Ave. During the workshop and lunch the Instructor and other Company Members will be with the students until they leave for their transportation home.
