A six week acting workout utilizing the Chekhov Technique for actors and theatre teachers new to this approach and those continuing to work with it. This summer class includes an overview of the dynamic principles and effective tools of the technique, guided creative process for developing a monologue, and opportunity to perform the monologue in the class. ​

- experience the working process of the technique, finding ease, movement ability, creative freedom and focus. The Chekhov Technique is movement based, making connections between mind and body, knowing and doing.

- Learn Chekhov’s creative, improvisational process for exploring and developing a role.

- learn tools for developing characters imaginatively and apply them to working on a monologue.

Chekhov’s Technique can be applied to all styles of acting for theatre and film.

This class is taught by Dawn Arnold, Certified Michael Chekhov Technique Teacher
